Buhari, Security Chiefs Meet In Aso Rock

SAN FRANCISCO, April 11, (THEWILL) – President Muhammadu Buhari, on Thursday, held a closed door meeting with service chiefs at the presidential office in Abuja.

The meeting started around 11am and discussions at the meeting would dwell on the security situation in the country.

Although the agenda was not made public, it is expected to take holistic view on the resurgence of insecurity especially the increasing banditry attacks in the North West, killings in Kaduna state and kidnapping in other parts of the country.

The Service Chiefs at the meeting were, Chief of Defence Staff, General Gabriel Olonishakin; Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Yusuf Buratai; Chief of Naval Staff, Ibok-Ete IIbas, and Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadiq Abubakar.

Also present at the meeting included the National Security Adviser, Major Gen. Babagana Monguno; Acting Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu; the Minister of Defence, Brigadier Gen. Mansur Dan-Ali; Director General of National Intelligence Agency, Rufai Abubakar, and the Director General, Department of Security Service, Yusuf Magaji Bichi.
